About This Project
Every kid has been asked the same terrifying question, "what do you want to be when you grow up?" When you were little the answer may have been a rockstar or an astronaut or doctor, but how are you supposed to know what you are interested in if you haven't been given the tools to research the possible jobs out there?
As a senior in high school with college applications looming ahead of me, I decided that I wanted to make this exploration a little easier for students. I began my Girl Scout Gold Award Project and interviewed as many people in different careers as I could. My goal was to shine a light on what jobs are really out there—ones you may have never even heard of.
It quickly became apparent that this would not be as easy as I thought, but I am so grateful for all of the people I met along the way and the insights I gained from them. It has been an incredible learning process for me, and I hope it can help a couple of curious students along the way.
